Wales’ first ‘Brain Bee’ competition in Neuroscience designed to encourage the next generation of Welsh scientists to push the boundaries of understanding of the human brain took place at Cardiff University on Wednesday 6th July 2011. Cardiff Malayalee Association (CMA) congratulates Ankita for her outstanding achievement on the ‘Brain Bee’ competition.
The International Brain Bee (IBB) is a live Question and Answer competition that tests the neuroscience knowledge of high school students. Young men and women compete to determine who has the “best brain” on such topics as intelligence, memory, emotions, sensations, movement, stress, aging, sleep, addiction, Alzheimer's, and stroke.
The competition, which started in the US and runs in countries across the world, will compete pupil against pupil with the overall winner being the pupil with the most correct answers and best knowledge of how the brain works.
Ankita Benny will go on to represent Wales in an international competition of similar winners from participating countries.
In total about 70 pupils from schools across Wales took part in the competition. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
